African First Ladies have backed a $150 million, five-year initiative by Women in Mining Africa (WIM-Africa) to enhance women's participation in the continent's mineral sector. Launched at the 2025–2030 WiM Africa Action Plan Validation Workshop Webinar, the program, led by Executive Director Mrs. Comfort Asokoro-Ogaji, emphasizes capacity building, policy advocacy, economic empowerment, and sustainable development. Recognizing the marginalization of women in the industry despite Africa's mineral wealth, the initiative includes a seven-point agenda featuring women-led mineral value addition, women-only mining zones, environmental resilience, and legal support....
