Iran has announced a significant new gas discovery of 10 trillion cubic feet in the Pazan field, its first such find in eight years. Despite holding the world's second-largest gas reserves, the country struggles with a domestic supply imbalance. Officials project a recoverable volume of 7 trillion cubic feet, which they believe will help address this shortfall in the coming years. However, production is not imminent, as extraction is estimated to begin only after a 40-month development period.
