African airlines showed remarkable performance in the global air cargo sector with a 14.7% year-on-year increase in demand in September, the highest among regions. Capacity rose by 7.4%, achieving a cargo load factor of 44.4% and a 2% share of the global market. This growth corresponds with international trade shifts due to US tariff changes, which diminished North America-Asia traffic while strengthening Asia-Africa connections. Globally, air cargo demand increased by 2.9%, driven by the Africa-Asia trade lane, providing opportunities for African exporters despite higher jet fuel prices.... More
