Thor Explorations Uncovers High-Grade Gold Across 4km Trend in Côte d'Ivoire
By: OrePulse
Thor Explorations has released promising initial drilling results from its Marahui gold project in northeastern Côte d'Ivoire, uncovering high-grade gold mineralization spanning 4 kilometers — part of the company's broader early-stage exploration holdings in the country.
The company, which trades on both AIM and the TSX-V, reported several standout intersections from the drilling program, including 6 meters grading 6.20 grams per tonne gold, 9 meters grading 5.40 grams per tonne gold, and a further 6 meters grading 5.60 grams per tonne gold.
These results suggest multiple gold-bearing veins running in parallel within a shear corridor stretching beyond 4 kilometers. Notably, drilling so far has covered only around 30% of the geological trend identified at the site, meaning most of the corridor has yet to be tested. The company also noted that additional geochemical anomalies found elsewhere within the license area present further exploration opportunities beyond the zone already drilled.
CEO and president Segun Lawson said the results demonstrate high-grade mineralization extending across a meaningful strike length. He characterized the project as still being in its early stages, noting that the company intends to test further targets as drilling continues and will share additional assay results as its understanding of the project's overall scale develops.
Marahui sits within Thor Explorations' broader portfolio of early-stage exploration ground across Côte d'Ivoire. This country has increasingly caught the attention of gold explorers in recent years as companies look for opportunities beyond West Africa's more established, mature gold belts. Because only a small portion of the identified trend has been drilled to date, the company noted that the corridor's true extent, along with the scale of mineralization it may ultimately host, will become clear only through further drilling.
