Nigeria’s Deputy High Commissioner to South Africa, Alexander Temitope Ajayi, has called for increased Nigerian non-oil exports and business expansion into South Africa to balance bilateral trade. He noted that although Nigeria has an overall trade surplus due to oil, it faces a significant non-oil trade deficit. Ajayi urged Nigerian businesses to leverage South Africa's advanced mining expertise and market opportunities, highlighting the underrepresentation of Nigerian firms compared to South African companies in each other’s markets. He also emphasized collaboration through the Bi-National Commission and upcoming high-level engagements to strengthen economic ties....
