At the African Mining Week, Nigeria's Dr. Dele Alake, representing the African Minerals Strategy Group, urged a continental shift from raw mineral exports to becoming a global hub for processing and green industrialization. He emphasized that Africa's critical minerals must now power its own industrial growth, ending the paradox of its resources developing other economies. To realize this vision, Nigeria is exemplifying this shift by promoting local beneficiation, digitizing mining processes, and strengthening its legal framework to attract investment. This call for a unified African strategy includes mapping resources and ensuring mining is conducted by licensed operators to capture greater value from the continent's mineral wealth....
