The African Extractive Minerals Development Bank is urging an end to the "pit-to-port" model, calling for Africa to process its own $3 trillion in mineral wealth locally instead of exporting raw materials. The bank made this appeal to international investors in London to mobilize capital for industrial projects that will drive economic transformation.
