Iran has increased oil production by 1,500 b/d from its Nowruz field after laying a new subsea power cable. Sanctions forced domestic engineers to develop a portable receiver to guide a standard vessel, as DP-equipped ships were unavailable. In a separate project, South Pars gas field boosted output by commissioning a ninth well, raising capacity above 22 MMcm/d. Both projects highlight Iran's efforts to circumvent external restrictions through local technical solutions....
