Atomic Eagle advances uranium exploration at Muntanga project

By: African Mining Market

Atomic Eagle Ltd. is pleased to provide an update regarding ongoing exploration activities at its 100%-owned Muntanga Uranium Project in Zambia.

Recently, the team focused on resource extension drilling at Chisebuka, where they successfully expanded the known uranium mineralization areas. Notable drilling results include impressive uranium concentrations such as 5.4 meters at 422 ppm eU₃O₈ and 12.8 meters at 237 ppm eU₃O₈. These findings extend the northern higher-grade zone to an impressive 900 by 600 meters and the south-west zone to 830 by 400 meters.

Moreover, drilling confirmed the continuity of mineralization between the higher-grade south-west zone and the previously defined resource area, painting a promising picture for future yields. To capitalize on this momentum, Atomic Eagle will soon launch a reverse circulation drill program targeting these higher-grade zones.

In parallel, two rigs have moved to kick off the maiden drilling program at the Muntanga North exploration target, where ground radiometric surveys have been completed on six target areas. Additionally, access to the Namakande 1 and 2 exploration sites is now clear, with radiometric surveys set to begin ahead of drilling scheduled for the third quarter of 2026.

With each step, Atomic Eagle is unlocking greater potential within the Muntanga Project, fueling hopes for a robust uranium resource that could play a significant role in the future of energy.

Atomic Eagle CEO Phil Hoskins said: “The first phase of the 2026 exploration program has been a success, extending the boundaries of the previously defined resource at Chisebuka and defining an additional higher-grade zone to the south-west. Subject to further studies, Chisebuka is demonstrating the potential to be a major contributor towards the Company’s target of a larger scale mine.

In addition to the ongoing drill program, ground radiometric surveys at other exploration targets have been continuing. This program has been highly promising as it has refined a number of new exploration targets that have not been drilled historically, including at Muntanga North where drilling will shortly commence.”
