Thor Explorations unearths high-grade gold at the Segilola gold mine

Thor Explorations Ltd has unearthed high-grade gold intersects from a deep diamond drilling program at the Segilola gold mine, in Nigeria.
“We are delighted to report continued positive progress from our deep diamond drilling program at Segilola, which has generated several significant gold intersections below the current open pit design,” said chief executive Segun Lawson.
The drilling is targeting mineralisation beneath the current open pit with the goal of extending the mine’s life, the miner said.
Highlight results from the latest drilling include 4.2 metres at 12.48 grams per tonne gold (in hole SNMDD060), 2 metres at 17.86 grams per tonne (in SNMDD061), and 5.9 metres at 6.0 grams per tonne (in SNMDD059).
So far, the company has completed 60 drill holes totalling 16,520 metres.
Now, Thor is considering deepening the open pit as part of its strategy to increase the life of mine. It has increased its 2025 exploration budget to US$11.50 million, and, highlighted that it also plans to commission its own drilling rigs to accelerate the pace of exploration.
