Jordan Inaugurates First Industrial Solar Heating Plant

Jordan has officially launched its first industrial solar heating facility in Al Muwaqqar Industrial City, Zawya reports. The plant is operated by Rotografia Jordan–Walid Kilani and Partners, a leading packaging and printing solutions company.
According to Zawya, the inauguration was led by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Kharabsheh, who highlighted the ministry’s commitment to renewable energy projects in the industrial sector. He noted that such initiatives reduce operational costs for local industries, enhance the competitiveness of Jordanian products in global markets, attract investment, and create jobs in solar-powered industrial heating.
It is reported that the facility, implemented by Power Source Jordan for Renewable Energy Systems, uses advanced photovoltaic and concentrated solar power (CSP) technologies to provide industrial heating for steam, oil, and air. Preliminary studies indicate solar heating projects can achieve energy savings of 40–90% annually and a return on investment within three to five years, with long-term cost reductions possible for up to 25 years.
The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources told Zawya that it supports such projects by integrating equipment into the renewable energy grid, granting customs and sales tax exemptions, and reducing reliance on conventional fuels while ensuring compliance with environmental standards.
