Freight operations across the UAE national railway network have remained uninterrupted, as Etihad Rail Freight reported significant cargo movement over the past nine days. The company disclosed that it successfully transported more than 459,000 tonnes of cargo and over 7,900 containers through more than 100 freight train trips, highlighting the railway’s critical role in ensuring the resilience of supply chains and the smooth movement of goods within the UAE.

Etihad Rail Freight confirmed that its services remain fully operational, providing essential connectivity between key industrial zones, ports and logistics hubs. The network acts as a vital logistics backbone that supports national supply chains across the country. This uninterrupted service is particularly significant as it underpins economic activity and facilitates trade among major economic centres in the UAE.

In an effort to bolster this operational resilience, the company has activated additional rail corridors and redeployed intermodal capacity to East Coast ports. Furthermore, the Al Ghail Dry Port Rail Terminal has received support with five additional train services. These enhancements are intended to ensure compliance with established safety and operational protocols while maintaining a close alignment with relevant authorities and monitoring regional developments.

Since initiating commercial freight operations, the national railway has become integral to the UAE’s logistics framework. The firm emphasised that its network provides a dependable, safe and sustainable transportation mode which enhances supply chain efficiency. This commitment to reliability continues to enable businesses across the UAE to operate smoothly, reinforcing the vital role of rail freight in supporting the national economy.
