Colombia's Vice President led a delegation to Ghana's Port of Tema to discuss practical maritime cooperation, including a proposal for a direct shipping route to bypass costly transshipment via Europe or North America. The talks focused on formalizing collaboration through a memorandum of understanding to improve port logistics and trade facilitation between the two regions. As part of Colombia's strategic outreach to Africa under its Vision 2030, Ghana was invited to an African Trade Forum Colombia will host in 2026.
