Trinasolar showcases integrated energy ecosystem at Africa Energy Forum 2026

By: Utilities Middle East

Trinasolar has returned to the Africa Energy Forum (AEF) 2026 with a portfolio of next-generation solar, energy storage and tracking technologies aimed at supporting Africa’s growing demand for reliable and scalable clean energy infrastructure.

Exhibiting at Booth E22 during the event in Cape Town, the company is showcasing its integrated energy ecosystem, which combines high-performance solar modules, battery energy storage systems and smart solar tracking technologies for utility-scale projects.

The centrepiece of Trinasolar’s participation is the launch of its new Vertex N G3 and Vertex S+ G3 solar modules, both powered by the company’s proprietary n-type i-TOPCon Ultra technology.

Todd Li, President of Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa at Trinasolar, said Africa’s industrialisation ambitions require integrated energy solutions capable of delivering reliable and scalable performance.

The Vertex N G3 module is designed for utility-scale projects and delivers a maximum power output of 760W with efficiency of up to 24.5%. The module is engineered to withstand challenging environmental conditions, including exposure to salt, ammonia, sand and extreme weather.

The company is also offering a configuration optimised for single-axis tracker systems, delivering up to 670W and efficiency of 24.8%, helping developers increase energy yield while reducing system costs.

For commercial, industrial and residential applications, the Vertex S+ G3 module provides up to 485W of power output and efficiency of 24.3%, supported by a 30-year power warranty.

Beyond solar modules, Trinasolar is showcasing its latest energy storage technologies. The company’s Elementa 3 battery energy storage system offers a capacity of 6.25MWh and incorporates 587Ah battery cells. The system features multiple safety layers, including nano thermal insulation, a fire-resistant container design and six-fold electrical protection.

The Electra solution integrates power conversion and medium-voltage transformer functions into a single platform, simplifying grid interconnection and improving coordination between DC and AC systems.

Trinasolar is also presenting its Vanguard 1P Terrain+ tracker system, designed to improve solar project deployment across complex terrain. The technology aims to reduce civil engineering requirements while minimising environmental impact and associated emissions.

As part of the event programme, Todd Li is participating in a leadership roundtable focused on the role of clean energy technologies in supporting Africa’s industrialisation agenda.

The company’s presence at AEF 2026 builds on a growing portfolio of projects across Africa. In South Africa, where Trinasolar holds a leading market position, the company has developed a project pipeline of 2GW and contributed to major solar developments, including the 506MW Khauta Solar Project and the Mulilo portfolio, which collectively represent around 940MW of capacity.

In Egypt, Trinasolar delivered the Abydos 300MWh battery energy storage project, the country’s first utility-scale solar and storage integrated facility, which was completed from installation to grid connection in just 60 days.
