By: Economy Middle east

The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has declared the launch of the new shipping route REDEX by CMA CGM at Jeddah Islamic Port. The move intends to boost the regional and worldwide competitiveness of Saudi maritime hubs, adhering to the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

The REDEX network links Jeddah Islamic Port to four international harbors: Malta Freeport, Port Said, Alexandria, and Aqaba, boasting a cumulative volume of 2,594 TEUs.

This development is part of Mawani’s push to reinforce logistics networks and ease the seamless movement of international commerce and domestic shipments. It supports the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, solidifying the Kingdom’s reputation as a global logistics nexus uniting three continents. Jeddah Islamic Port possesses 62 versatile berths, a logistics zone for bonded storage and re-export, and a direct truck transport system.

Furthermore, the port incorporates customized terminals outfitted with state-of-the-art machinery, comprising two container management hubs and maritime service docks with a total throughput potential of 130 million tons. The introduction of the REDEX service underscores the commitment to modernizing infrastructure and improving vessel turnaround efficiency at Jeddah’s premier gateway.
