DP World Launches $85 Million Logistics Hub in Egypt’s Sokhna Industrial Zone

By: Sada Elbalad English

Global port operator DP World has begun operations at its new logistics hub, “DP World Egypt for Logistics Services,” located in the Sokhna Integrated Industrial Zone under the Suez Canal Economic Zone Authority, with total investments of $85 million.

Spanning 300,000 square meters, the project includes a public bonded warehouse for container storage and a non-bonded warehouse for duty-paid goods. It is the first fully integrated logistics complex of its kind within the Suez Canal Economic Zone.

The first phase of the project, the bonded warehouse, has officially begun operations, while the second phase is set to launch in the third quarter of 2026. The facility will initially provide 150 jobs, expected to increase to 300 upon full completion.

Equipped with advanced digital logistics solutions, the new hub features real-time cargo tracking systems and an online customer service platform, designed to enhance operational efficiency and transparency.

The complex aims to strengthen Egypt’s supply chains, reduce operational costs for investors, and serve a wide range of sectors, including raw materials, packaging, agricultural products, construction materials, electronics, textiles, and automotive components.

The project marks another milestone in DP World’s long-term commitment to Egypt, reinforcing the country’s position as a strategic regional trade and logistics hub linking Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.
