Congo Targets 500,000 BPD Oil Output by 2030
The Republic of Congo’s government has announced plans to raise national oil production to 500,000 barrels per day (bpd) by 2030 to meet domestic demand.
According to Bruno Jean-Richard Itoua, Minister of Hydrocarbons, Congo, cumulative oil production from January 1 to July 31 reached 56,945,552 barrels, averaging 268,000 bpd over 212 days – a 5.2% increase compared with the same period in 2024.
The Minister highlighted recent contributions from major operators, including TotalEnergies, which added four oil fields and brought in around 900,000 barrels during the stated period. Meanwhile, Perenco produced around 60,000 barrels and aims to reach 200,000 bpd by 2030.
