Italian firm Ecoprogetti has commissioned a new 400MW advanced solar module factory in Oman, operated by local company AACE, marking its second and largest production line in the Gulf region. The project boosts Oman's local solar manufacturing capacity to 600MW, with plans for further expansion, and capitalizes on the country's free trade agreement for potential exports to the U.S. market. This expansion occurs amid heightened U.S. protectionist trade policies that have increased costs and uncertainty for solar imports, creating demand for alternative, reliable supply chains.
