Four Barrick employees held captive in Mali for about a year have been freed under a new agreement over the Loulo-Gounkoto mine, a critical asset contributing 15% of Barrick's 2024 output. In a comprehensive settlement, Barrick will pay Mali approximately US$430 million and withdraw international arbitration claims.
