Oil prices in the Middle East are showing strain from concerns over a looming surplus as OPEC+ presses ahead with its strategy to reclaim market share and demand from Chinese refiners softens.
The prompt spread for Abu Dhabi’s flagship Murban crude slipped into its widest contango this year, a bearish structure typically seen as a sign of expanding supply.
So-called oil on water is currently 170 million barrels higher than the same time last year, with seaborne markets across multiple regions looking very long on supply....
