Kuwait Ports Authority taps KPMG-led team for 2035 ports plan
By: OrePulse
Kuwait Ports Authority has appointed KPMG to lead a new strategic plan aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of the country's commercial ports through 2035, the authority said.
KPMG in Kuwait is leading the engagement, working alongside Dutch engineering firm Haskoning Nederland BV and Dar Gulf Consult.
The assignment covers an assessment of the authority's market position and operational performance, followed by the development of strategic options and an implementation roadmap that includes functional strategies, key performance indicators, a risk management framework and a monitoring program.
The second part of the engagement establishes a Strategic Technical Support Office, led by KPMG, to provide oversight, technical advice, and project management support for an initial 36 months.
A KPMG managing partner in Kuwait linked the plan to the country's economic diversification efforts under Kuwait's Vision 2035. A KPMG global head of ports said the strategy could help strengthen the authority's position within regional and international shipping networks. A KPMG associate partner said the support office will work directly with the authority's teams during implementation.
