DHL Group has named Morocco one of its priority "Geographic Tailwinds" markets, citing the country's growing role in shifting global trade corridors and nearshoring trends, the company said at Tangier Logistics Days 2026.
Mary Oxley, vice president of marketing and sales for DHL Global Forwarding Middle East & Africa, said Morocco's inclusion "reflects what we are already seeing on the ground," adding that the country "is becoming increasingly important in global trade, investment and supply chain diversification."
DHL employs more than 400 logistics professionals in Morocco across its various divisions. DHL Express has operated in the country since 1987, running air express gateways in Casablanca and Tangier, along with nine service centers, 23 retail outlets, 147 delivery vehicles, two dedicated cargo aircraft, and two facilities certified under the Transported Asset Protection Association's security standard.
DHL Global Forwarding has had a separate presence in Morocco since 2007. It is headquartered in Casablanca, with branches in Tangier and Agadir, and operates a 3,600-square-metre warehouse inside the Tangier Med Hub Free Zone, which sits alongside one of the busiest container ports on the Mediterranean-Atlantic corridor.
The company pointed to Morocco's location bridging Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa as a central reason for the designation, along with industrial growth in sectors including automotive, aerospace, life sciences, healthcare and agribusiness. Those factors, DHL said, are helping position the country as a nearshoring destination as companies look to diversify supply chains away from more distant manufacturing hubs.
The designation was announced at Tangier Logistics Days 2026, an industry event focused on logistics and supply-chain developments along Morocco's northern trade corridor, where DHL set out its combined air express, retail and freight-forwarding footprint in the country as evidence of its long-standing commitment to the market.
