APM Terminals has inaugurated a $500 million expansion of the Suez Canal Container Terminal, adding 955 meters of quay and 510,000 square meters of yard space to increase its capacity to 7 million TEUs. The project, equipped with 12 new quay cranes and 30 electric RTGs, leverages digital tools like digital twins to optimize efficiency for major shipping routes. Aligned with net-zero goals, the expansion also boosts the local economy by creating over 1,000 new jobs, reinforcing the terminal's role as a modern and sustainable global trade hub....
