Italy’s ambassador has identified Zimbabwe as a potential source of rare earths, though the country currently lacks processing capacity and remains heavily dependent on Chinese mining investment. A recent policy paper recommends nationalizing rare earth resources and focusing on domestic beneficiation to capture higher value from the supply chain.
