Asarian plans 17-hole infill drilling at Namibplaas uranium project

Asarian plans 17-hole infill drilling at Namibplaas uranium project

Asarian Energy Limited said it has approved an infill drilling program at its Namibplaas uranium deposit in Namibia, part of the company's Norasa Project, with drilling expected to begin in late October or early November.

The program covers about 4,500 meters across 17 holes, using a combination of reverse circulation and diamond core drilling, at the Namibplaas deposit within exploration license EPL 3638. Namibplaas sits roughly 3 kilometers northeast of the company's Valencia deposit, held under mining license ML 149.

Asarian said the goal of the program is to gather new geological and assay data to support an updated mineral resource estimate for Namibplaas, including assessing whether part of the deposit's current Inferred resource can be upgraded to the Indicated category. The company said the existing Inferred classification stems partly from having less assay data than downhole gamma-logging data at the deposit. The new holes are intended to add assay results that can be compared against the gamma logs and used to confirm uranium conversion factors applied to the resource.

The planned holes are oriented at an azimuth of about 305 degrees and an inclination of about 60 degrees, and are designed to reach mineralization at depths of up to roughly 250 meters, according to the company.

Chief executive John Borshoff described the program as the first phase of a drilling campaign that Asarian intends to continue into 2027, saying the work could later extend to the company's Valencia deposit as well. Namibia is among the world's larger uranium-producing jurisdictions, and Asarian's Norasa Project combines the Namibplaas and Valencia deposits under a single development plan.

Namibplaas and Valencia are held through Asarian's subsidiary, Valencia Uranium (Proprietary) Limited, as part of the broader Norasa Project in Namibia. Asarian Energy trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the ticker ARN, on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange under F2T, and on the Namibian Stock Exchange under AAE.

The company did not provide a specific date for when the updated Namibplaas resource estimate is expected to be completed once the new drilling and assay results are in hand, and it did not disclose a cost estimate for the planned drilling program.
