Wood exceeds $1 billion in 2025 Middle East contract wins

By: Indian chemicals news

The global consulting and engineering company Wood secured over $1 billion in contract awards across the Middle East in 2025, marking its second consecutive year of record sales in the region. This represents a near 20% increase compared to its 2024 awards, with projects spanning the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, and Qatar.

Among the significant contracts awarded in 2025 were:

An Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) contract to expand the ADNOC Gas Habshan facility in the UAE. This was the largest project of the year and involves substantial upgrades, efficiency improvements, and new installations.

Project management and engineering services for PetroChina at the West Qurna 1 oilfield in southern Iraq.

A Project Management Consultancy (PMC) role for TA’ZIZ in developing the UAE’s first methanol production facility in Al Ruwais Industrial City, Abu Dhabi.

A series of decarbonisation contracts focused on flare gas reduction and carbon efficiency solutions across major Iraqi oil fields.

An advisory framework for a global energy and chemicals investment company.

Company executives attributed this success to client trust and a focus on regional priorities. Gerry Traynor, President of Projects for the Eastern Hemisphere, stated that the results demonstrated Wood's ability to deliver complex projects at scale in support of national ambitions. He noted the company would build on this momentum in 2026 by strengthening its local presence and talent development.

Ellis Renforth, President of Operations for Europe, Middle East, and Africa, highlighted the delivery of critical solutions to improve asset reliability and cut emissions. The focus for the coming year would be on expanding operations and maintenance services to enhance efficiency and energy security.

Stuart Turl, Vice President of Middle East Consulting, emphasized that decarbonisation and digitalisation remained central to Wood's regional strategy. He pointed to the launch of specialized Middle East Energy Transition and Digital & AI Hubs as key initiatives to help clients reduce emissions and unlock efficiencies through artificial intelligence.
