UAE-Kazakhstan Joint Committee Discusses Cooperation In AI, Space, Energy
Senior officials from the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Kazakhstan co-chaired the tenth session of the UAE-Kazakhstan Joint Committee in Astana. The UAE delegation was led by Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure and Special Envoy of the UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs, while the Kazakh side was headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development, Zhaslan Madiyev.
The two sides discussed a broad range of topics of mutual interest, including international cooperation, investment, finance, health, transport services, artificial intelligence, space, and energy. They commended the growing momentum in bilateral relations, noting that non-oil trade between the two countries reached USD 5.6 billion in 2024. The UAE delegation highlighted the significance of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi's official visit to Astana in May 2025, which reaffirmed the commitment to expanding strategic cooperation.
The session concluded with the signing of the meeting's minutes, renewing the commitment to translate joint priorities into concrete outcomes. On the sidelines, Minister Al Mazrouei chaired a roundtable at the Astana International Financial Centre to monitor project implementation and explore new avenues for cooperation between small and medium-sized enterprises. He also held the sixth session of political consultations with Kazakhstan's Minister of Foreign Affairs and separate meetings with the Ministers of Transport and Energy to discuss logistics corridors and energy projects.
