Rhino Resources Makes Discovery at Namibia’s Voltans-1X Well
Exploration company Rhino Resources has made a discovery at the Voltans-1X well in Namibia’s Orange Basin. The well encountered a 26-meter reservoir with high-quality fluid measuring approximately 40° API, indicating a rich gas condensate accumulation.
The find follows a string of discoveries made by the company in recent months. Drilling campaigns at the Sagittarius-1X and Capricornus-1X wells yielded positive results, with the company now eyeing at least one more appraisal well in Q1, 2026 to further evaluate the Voltans project.
Travis Smithard, CEO of Rhino Resources, described the Voltans-1X discovery as being “incredible”, emphasizing that it has further enhanced the country’s investment appeal.
