Libya Reports New Oil Find in Ghadamès Basin
Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) has confirmed a new oil discovery in the Ghadamès Basin.
The discovery – which follows drilling operations by Algeria’s national oil company Sonatrach’s subsidiary SIPEX – from well A-65/2 is expected to yield an estimated 4,200 barrels of crude oil per day.
The project was executed under an integrated project management approach in partnership with a group of local and international companies. As part of the initiative, rigs No. 13, 12 and 33 were reactivated and returned to the NOC fleet.
