DEWA Highlights Clean Energy Leadership While Hosting Global SDG Delegation
The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) recently hosted a global delegation for the "Road to HLPF on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)" conference, showcasing its leadership in the global clean energy transition. During the event, DEWA highlighted its strategic initiatives and infrastructure projects that directly contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to clean energy, climate action, and sustainable infrastructure.
Key achievements emphasized included the significant progress of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, one of the world's largest single-site solar parks, and the integrated Green Hydrogen project. DEWA also presented its advanced smart grid and digital transformation initiatives, which enhance operational efficiency and grid resilience while supporting the integration of renewable energy sources.
The utility framed its efforts as a model for how state-owned enterprises can drive national sustainability agendas and align with global climate objectives. By hosting this delegation, DEWA aimed to share its practical experience in implementing large-scale renewable energy projects and demonstrate its commitment to international cooperation on sustainable development.
