Chinese contracting giant teams up with Aramco for new Saudi offshore fabrication yard

Chinese offshore contractor Offshore Oil Engineering Company (COOEC) is set to widen its presence in the Middle East region through a strategic collaboration with state giant Saudi Aramco, aimed at setting up an offshore fabrication yard in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Chinese player recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Aramco for the proposed fabrication facility, as it envisages expanding its regional footprint and meet Aramco’s localisation requirements.
COOEC is a key member of Saudi Aramco's long term agreement (LTA) framework with international contracting specialists and has been actively participating in key brownfield and greenfield developments in Saudi Arabia.
