Aramco and Sonatrach raise LPG prices
Saudi Aramco and Sonatrach have raised their official selling prices (OSPs) for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for February by between 1% and 5.3%, according to traders, amid tightening global supply.
Acccording to the news report by Zawya, Saudi Aramco increased its February OSP by $20 per metric tonne to $545 per tonne for propane, and by $20 per tonne to $540 per tonne for butane.
Propane and butane are the two main components of LPG, used widely as automotive fuel, for heating, and as a feedstock for petrochemical production.
Algeria’s Sonatrach also raised its February LPG prices, increasing propane by $25 per tonne to $500 per tonne, while butane rose by $5 per tonne to $490 per tonne.
Aramco’s LPG OSPs serve as a key pricing reference for Middle East exports to the Asia-Pacific market, influencing contract prices across the region.
Sonatrach’s OSPs are used as benchmarks for the Mediterranean and Black Sea markets, including Turkey.
The price increases reflect tighter global LPG supply conditions, which have supported higher benchmark prices entering 2026.
