In his presentation at the Gold Forum Americas 2024, DRDGOLD CEO Niël Pretorius highlighted the company's innovative gold-from-tailings recovery projects, which not only boost gold production but also restore the environment and benefit local communities. DRDGOLD aims to increase tonnage throughput to three million tonnes per month and gold production to over six tonnes annually by FY 2028. The company is also advancing renewable energy efforts, with a 40 MW solar plant and a 160 MWh battery storage system under construction. Its long-term strategy focuses on consolidating tailings operations in South Africa and exploring international opportunities, while also looking into the recovery of platinum group and battery metals.
