The Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) has invalidated a government permit for Eskom's proposed 3,000-megawatt natural gas power plant in Richards Bay. The SCA cited inadequate public consultation as the basis for its decision, requiring Eskom to seek authorization anew with proper public participation.
