POSCO International has begun developing Tanzania's Mahenge graphite mine, the world's second-largest reserve, to build a battery anode supply chain. This project, part of a multinational Minerals Security Partnership, will supply 60,000 tons of graphite annually to POSCO from 2028. The initiative directly counters China's supply dominance, especially as the US imposes heavy tariffs on Chinese graphite. It will significantly boost the self-sufficiency of South Korea's battery material supply chain. The development marks a strategic expansion of POSCO's African resource portfolio and global battery competitiveness....
