Toubani reports high-grade gold results from Kobada pre-production drilling

By: African Mining Market

Toubani Resources Ltd. announced outstanding assay results from ongoing pre-production infill drilling at its Kobada Gold Project in southern Mali, confirming the project’s high-grade gold potential as it moves closer to production.

The latest drilling campaign has delivered significant gold mineralisation in the northern area of the Kobada Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE), with highlights including:

  • 44m at 3.12g/t gold from 164m, including 1m at 33.4g/t and 25m at 2.06g/t (KBRC26_157B)
  • 58m at 1.22g/t gold from 96m (EOH), with intervals of 1m at 10.7g/t and 3m at 6.69g/t (KBRC26_157)
  • 6m at 3.78g/t gold from 222m and 17m at 3.95g/t gold from 233m (EOH), including 1m at 33.8g/t(KBRC26_155A)
  • 33m at 1.70g/t gold from 147m (KBRC26_180A)
  • 16m at 2.64g/t gold from 124m, including 1m at 23.5g/t and 9m at 2.34g/t from 144m (KBRC26_194)
  • 20m at 1.98g/t gold from 123m, including 2m at 12.4g/t and 8m at 3.54g/t from 171m, with 1m at 20.5g/t (KBRC26_200)

These results enhance the confidence in the existing Kobada MRE, which currently holds 2.2 million ounces of gold over a 4.5km strike length, predominantly oxide and suitable for open-pit mining.

Work is now underway to update the MRE, with completion targeted for the end of the third quarter of 2026. Following this, Toubani plans to revise the Ore Reserve estimate and finalise the mine plan in the fourth quarter of 2026 to support pre-production planning ahead of mining commencement expected in early 2027.

Drilling continues not only at Kobada but also at nearby targets Foroko and Gosso, with reverse circulation (RC) rigs active and aircore drilling recently started south of Kobada to explore potential extensions of mineralisation.

These latest assays provide further validation of Kobada’s robust, high-grade core. The consistency of results strengthens our confidence as we update the resource model and advance towards finalising reserves, pit design, and mining schedules. Our ongoing drilling at Foroko and Gosso targets shallow oxide mineralisation, which is crucial for enhancing our long-term mine plan and operational flexibility.” Phil Russo, Managing Director

Toubani Resources remains committed to progressing Kobada as a major new gold asset in West Africa, with a clear path towards production and ongoing exploration to expand its resource base.
