Mali's military authorities have arrested four senior Malian employees of Canadian miner Barrick Gold on allegations of financial crimes. Barrick, one of Mali's largest gold producers, declined to comment. The arrests come amid growing pressure on international miners since the junta took power in 2020. The junta is seeking to increase state control over gold revenues and has strengthened ties with Russia, including agreements to build a gold refinery and explore minerals with Russian companies....
