UAE’s AMEA to Establish Africa’s Largest Solar, Battery storage project in Egypt...

AMEA Power, in partnership with Kyuden International Corporation, will build Africa’s largest single-site solar and battery storage facility in Aswan, Egypt. The $700+ million project, financed by the IFC, combines a 1,000 MW solar plant with a 600 MWh battery system and is set to operate by June 2026. It will power over 500,000 homes, cut 1.6 million tonnes of CO₂ annually, and create thousands of local jobs during construction. This initiative builds on AMEA Power's existing renewable projects in Egypt and marks Kyuden's first investment in the country....
