Somalia, ASYAD Discuss Cooperation on Ports and Logistics
Somalia’s foreign minister and Oman’s ASYAD Group chief executive officer held talks on port efficiency, integrated logistics and investment, the foreign ministry said.
The discussions between Minister Abdisalam Abdi Ali, and CEO Omar bin Mahmoud al-Mahrazi took place in Muscat on Monday, according to a ministry statement.
ASYAD Group is Oman’s state-owned logistics company overseeing ports, shipping and transport operations.
The officials also discussed ways to enhance trade connectivity and leverage Somalia’s strategic location linking the Red Sea, the Gulf and East Africa.
ASYAD Group expressed readiness to engage through technical cooperation and investment frameworks, the ministry said.
