Orion Minerals Names Stephen Rowse Interim CFO After Van Coller Exit
By: OrePulse
Orion Minerals has named Stephen Rowse as interim chief financial officer, effective October 22, 2026, after Peet van Coller left the position with immediate effect, the company said.
Van Coller had served as Orion's chief financial officer since April 2023, a tenure of roughly three and a half years. Orion managing director and chief executive officer Tony Lennox thanked Van Coller for his contribution, crediting him with "steady financial leadership" as the company pushed forward with its South African copper projects.
Rowse, a chartered accountant, brings more than two decades of senior-level finance experience, spanning the mining industry and companies listed on the Australian Securities Exchange, the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and London's AIM market. He previously held the role of general manager of finance and administration at MC Mining and, most recently, served as chief financial officer of Sail Mining Group.
Orion said the interim move is designed to keep its finance function stable while it searches for a permanent chief financial officer. The company has retained an executive recruitment firm to run that search and said the position has drawn strong interest.
Orion, which is dual-listed on the Australian Securities Exchange and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, is developing the Prieska copper-zinc mine and the Okiep copper project, both situated in South Africa's Northern Cape province.
