GoldStone Resources, the AIM-listed gold explorer, said on October 26, 2026, that it had received encouraging early results from a reverse-circulation pit-definition drilling programme at its Homase mine in Ghana.

The company said the results indicate that two proposed pits at the site, Pits 5 and 6, could potentially be combined into a single pit. Drilling also found gold mineralization at depth in areas where earlier surface sampling had produced weaker results.

GoldStone CEO Emma Priestley said, "The progress we are making at Homase is an important step in our strategy to strengthen the existing mining operation." She said the company's immediate priority "remains supporting the existing Homase operation."

The pit-definition programme was first announced in August. GoldStone said the northern portion of the programme is now complete, along with the first five holes of the southern portion.

Priestley said, "The latest drilling results reinforce our confidence in the prospectivity of the Homase Trend."

The company also said it has reappointed SEMS Exploration Services, the firm that prepared Homase's original mineral resource estimate of 602,000 ounces reported in November 2012, to lead the next stage of resource evaluation and expansion work. SEMS has proposed a programme of roughly 32 reverse-circulation and diamond drill holes, totaling about 7,770 meters, spread across four target areas along the Homase Trend.

Priestley said the reappointment of SEMS "represents an important step in advancing our longer-term growth strategy."

GoldStone described the Homase Trend as a well-defined structural zone hosting known gold mineralization over a length of about 4.4 kilometers, within a wider structural corridor that extends more than 8 kilometers. The company said its evaluation work could extend further south toward the site of the former underground mine at Akrokeri, as well as to parallel mineralized structures along the trend.

Priestley said the company believes its approach "provides a strong foundation for the next phase of GoldStone's development."

GoldStone framed the drilling results and the reappointment of SEMS as steps supporting its existing Homase operation while it works to grow the project's resource base ahead of its next scheduled resource update. The company said the current phase of drilling and evaluation builds directly on the resource base established by the 2012 estimate, rather than replacing it.
