Ethiopost and Ethiopian Trading Businesses Corporation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at enhancing the country’s trade and logistics value chain and improving service delivery to citizens.

The agreement, signed by Ethiopost Chief Executive Officer Dagmawi Hailiye and ETBC Chief Executive Officer Behailu Nigussie, is expected to facilitate the large-scale distribution of essential commodities, including grains, pulses, and other agricultural products, to communities nationwide.

The partnership will also support the development of modern trading systems, including emerging e-commerce platforms, as both institutions seek to leverage their respective capabilities to improve market access and efficiency.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Hailiye highlighted Ethiopost’s extensive logistics infrastructure, transportation network, and nationwide branch presence, noting that these assets position the organization to deliver goods efficiently across the country.

Nigussie said the collaboration would help connect producers directly with consumers, enhancing economic outcomes for citizens while contributing to sustainable national growth.

The two entities noted that the partnership is expected to support government efforts to stabilize the cost of living and strengthen food security, reinforcing broader national development objectives.
