Egypt, Afreximbank join forces to establish African Gold Bank...

The Central Bank of Egypt and Afreximbank have signed a memorandum of understanding to create a gold bank, aiming to boost African central bank reserves, reduce reliance on external refining and trading hubs, and formalize the continent's gold industry. The initiative will include a feasibility study for an integrated system with an internationally certified refinery, secure storage, and financial services in an Egyptian free zone, with plans to expand across Africa. The project seeks to enhance financial stability, retain value within the continent, and position Egypt as a regional hub for gold trade....
