Awalé Resources Ltd reported new diamond drilling assay results from its BBM gold-copper deposit at the Odienné project in Côte d'Ivoire, including an intercept outside the current mineral resource and another within the existing open-pit resource.

The company said hole BBDD-33 returned 47 meters grading 2.2 grams per tonne gold-equivalent from 589 meters downhole, including a higher-grade section of 3 meters at 10.3 grams per tonne gold-equivalent. That intercept lies outside the current mineral resource, about 400 meters below surface and roughly 200 meters along strike from the deposit's main high-grade shoot, and the mineralization remains open toward the northwest, according to the company.

A second hole, BBDD-47, returned 44 meters grading 3.1 grams per tonne gold-equivalent from 154 meters downhole, including 22 meters at 4.0 grams per tonne gold-equivalent. That intercept falls within the existing open-pit mineral resource. A third hole, BBDD-39, returned 67 meters grading 2.0 grams per tonne gold-equivalent from 479 meters, including 27 meters at 2.7 grams per tonne gold-equivalent.

Awalé said the results come from the first seven of 72 deep and in-pit holes drilled at BBM as part of its current program. Assays from an additional eight deep holes and 57 resource holes at the deposit remain pending. The company said the BBDD-33 intercept, sitting outside the current resource and open toward the northwest, points to possible additional mineralization beyond the boundaries already captured in BBM's existing resource estimate, while the BBDD-47 result confirms continuity of higher-grade material within ground already covered by that estimate.

Chief executive Andrew Chubb said, "BBM continues to deliver the width, grade, and continuity we need to build a meaningful deposit."

Samples from the drilling program were analyzed by Intertek, an independent laboratory. BBM is part of the Odienné project, which Awalé holds under a joint-venture arrangement with Newmont.

Awalé Resources trades on the TSX Venture Exchange under the ticker ARIC, on the OTCQX market under AWLRF, and on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange under 2F60. The company did not provide a timeline for when assays from the remaining 65 pending holes are expected to be released, and it did not state when it next plans to update BBM's mineral resource estimate to incorporate the new results.
