Tunisia’s 120 MWp Solar PV Project in Kairouan has reached over 82% construction progress, with commercial operations expected before the end of the year. The project aims to support the country’s energy transition, diversify its energy sources, and reduce reliance on imported gas.

The site was recently visited by Mr. Ouael Chouchene, Secretary of State in Charge of Energy Transition; Mr. Tarifa Faycel, CEO of STEG Tunisie; Mr. Dhaker Barguaoui, Governor of Kairouan; and Ms. Almud Weitz, Regional Practice Director for Infrastructure, Middle East and North Africa, World Bank Group.

The initiative underscores Tunisia’s commitment to accelerating renewable energy deployment, with the project set to play a key role in strengthening the national grid and promoting clean energy adoption.
