Sibanye-Stillwater signs 10 year renewable PPA with Etana Energy
Sibanye-Stillwater has signed a flexible power purchase agreement (PPA) with Etana Energy to procure wheeled renewable electricity for its gold and platinum group metals mining operations in South Africa.
Under the agreement, Etana will supply 600 GWh of green electricity annually for 10 years, with deliveries due to begin in late 2027. Etana stated that the contracted volume is equivalent to around 220 MW of solar and wind capacity. The renewable power will be wheeled to Sibanye-Stillwater’s sites through the national transmission network and is expected to help the miner.
