Saudi Floating Solar Powers Water Innovation
Arabian Qudra, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia’s Abunayyan Holding, has signed an agreement with the Saudi Water Authority to develop the Kingdom’s first floating solar power plant. The agreement, signed during the Innovation Driven Water Sustainability Conference, is part of Arabian Qudra's strategy to reinforce its leadership in the solar energy sector and support Saudi Arabia's national renewable energy goals.
During the same event, the Saudi Water Authority announced several other strategic collaborations. These included a research partnership with Saudi Yokogawa Company to implement artificial intelligence for early detection of water leaks and to enhance the efficiency of water networks and stations. Additional agreements were signed with the Water Management Alliance to bolster water security and innovation, and with BW Water to strengthen technical collaboration, research, and training in the water sector.
Arabian Qudra is a prominent solar engineering, procurement, and construction provider in the MENA region, managing the full value chain for large-scale solar projects. Together, these initiatives reflect a concerted effort to integrate renewable energy, deploy advanced technologies, and foster international cooperation to improve the long-term resilience of Saudi Arabia's critical water and energy infrastructure.
