Saudi Arabia’s Transport General Authority apprehends 1,417 unlicensed passenger transport operators in one week

The Transport General Authority (TGA) of Saudi Arabia reported that its inspection teams apprehended 1,417 violators for conducting unlicensed passenger transport services across various regions of the Kingdom during a week-long campaign from December 13 to December 19, 2025.

According to the authority, its teams apprehended 799 individuals for the specific violation of soliciting passengers using private vehicles without a license, and another 618 individuals for transporting passengers in an unauthorized manner. Legal measures against the violators included the imposition of fines and the impoundment of their vehicles.

The TGA affirmed that these field campaigns are part of its continuous efforts to enhance competitiveness in the transport sector and curb illegal practices that compromise service quality and passenger safety.
