SCA pens deal with Namport on cooperation in port development, maritime training
The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Namibian Ports Authority (Namport) to enhance bilateral cooperation in port development and maritime services. The agreement, formalized on December 17th, is part of Egypt's strategic initiative to expand its commercial and technical presence across the African continent.
The MoU establishes a framework for collaboration in several key areas. These include the exchange of expertise in marine construction works, the sale and leasing of specialized marine units, and advanced maritime training delivered through the SCA's training and simulation academies.
The SCA's Chairman, Osama Rabie, stated the authority's readiness for constructive cooperation, highlighting that the partnership aligns with the SCA's strategy to undertake external projects and enter new markets in Africa.
