Ras Al Khaimah exports surge as diversified economy gains momentum
The Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah is solidifying its role as a diversified economic hub, with new data indicating strong export growth, expanding free zones, and increasing investment in tourism. Aligned with the UAE's national development agenda, the emirate is focusing on strengthening its non-oil economic pillars, including production, logistics, and tourism.
Key export data from the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry shows robust performance. In the first nine months of 2025, members exported goods worth approximately AED 7.6 billion. The third quarter was particularly strong, with 9,467 certificates of origin issued, indicating sustained production and external demand. Saudi Arabia was the largest export destination, receiving goods valued at over AED 1.6 billion, followed by other Gulf nations like Oman, Kuwait, and Iraq.
The emirate's free zones continue to be a significant growth driver. The Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone reported issuing 2,839 certificates of origin for the UAE local market, valued at AED 567 million, attracting projects in manufacturing and advanced technology.
Parallel to this, the tourism sector is expanding rapidly. In 2024, Ras Al Khaimah welcomed 1.28 million hotel guests. With around 8,300 hotel rooms currently available and an additional 9,300 in development, primarily in the luxury segment, the emirate is targeting 3.5 million annual visitors by 2030, supported by large-scale real estate developments.
